Setting the tone with panning frequencies, keys and intricate layered guitar detailing, we are already mesmerized by Rapture RDY‘s new single, Crossroads. Opening with the situational lyrics, “I met the devil at the Crossroads, eyes are black as night, feeling scared and cautious, he said he’s gonna change my life…”, we are taken on a subversive and enigmatic journey with the opus.
Crossroads expands into a dimensional, genre-expansive hybrid composition which combines Rap, Blues and a Christian message. Rapture RDY confesses that the song is about “the hard decisions we are all faced with…”
Based out of Benton in Kentucky, which is cradled amongst the hills of the Clarks River, Rapture RDY lays down laconic and laid-back rhymes with a hint of his country heritage and a whole lot of swagger.
This year alone, Rapture RDY has released three singles, Hard Times, Crossroads and Me Against The World with Ceron Mayes. All three singles showcase his astonishing diversity, tight lyrical flow and his passion for sharing conscious art.
We learn that now keeping God by his side, his songs are “the inspiration and the lesson that there is salvation for those that seek it out”. As he himself says, “Nothing is better than seeing light in your life”, Rapture RDY has found that flame and is making the climb towards bigger and better things.
We appreciate Rapture RDY‘s connection to God and how his narratives deliver a thought-provoking vibe that is conscious and introspective. We have added Crossroads to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Rapture RDY‘s wider discography.
