Setting the tone with rippling guitar tones, Louis and the Shakes open their new single, TRAILBLAZR with the enigmatic and poetic lyrics, “Trailblazing, across the Western skies, stargazing with a fire in my eyes…”
The opus expands with bold guitar chords into an art-rock, anthemic energy, and we are obsessed. We learn that TRAILBLZR is written as a defiant statement to the industry. The band confess that it is “a two-fingers up to the non-believers who told them they’d never make it”.
Recorded at RYP Studios and produced by Michael Smith, this first release on Marquee Records. It is no surprise that the band have garnered plays across Radio X, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, plus a string of syncs, including BT Sport, Sky Sport and on-game and TV ad for Oculus Quest VR ‘Unplugged’. They have performed at iconic festivals including IOW, YNOT Great Escape, DottoDot, REWIRED & OnBlackheath.
We appreciate the melodic bassline fused with lead singer Louis’ dynamic vocal performance, and the cerebral and celestial intricacies of the production that explain why so many are connecting with the band on such a profound level!
Lyrical highlights include the timeless, “what you see is what you get, no you ain’t seen nothin’ yet…”, and the empowering hook “I’m giving it all, I’ve got some more…”
We have added TRAILBLAZR to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Louis and the Shakes‘ wider discography including On One and Shoot To Kill.
