As huge Dorian fans who have covered a slew of his latest releases including the romantic ode to the love of his life, Proud and the emotive, Reign Love, we were ecstatic to hear the latest release from the rising star, Do Ya.
With a pulsing tone to set the scene, we are already intrigued by the darker vibe that Dorian is sharing with Do Ya. The opus expands with a synthetic dark-pop energy with rippling high hats and crescendoing vocals singing the title of the track.
Giving us Berlin meets nightcore-pop vibes, Do Ya expands with the hook, “Do Ya ever think of me?”, as Dorian takes us on a subversive journey which is both intimate and introspective! We appreciate his atmospheric vocals and nuanced delivery.
The release of Do Ya also marks the announcement of Dorian‘s new EP, 33, due for release later next month! This surprise EP announcement and single release comes on the heels of Dorian‘s epic album The Arrival.
Do Ya showcases the rising artist from Baltimore’s versatility and sonic range, and is a record filled with “energy and wonderment”.
We learn that 33 is a surprise 3-track EP that Dorian has announced and that for the numerologically inclined artist, 33 signifies Dorian’s age and the three year anniversary of his first ever music release! The record is set to be his best, and most vulnerable and honest offering to date.
We have added Do Ya to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Dorian’s wider discography including Reign Love and Thrill of It.
