Setting the tone with immersive keys and textured detailing, Belle Ford opens her single, Blackout with atmospheric vocals and vulnerable lyricism. Blackout expands into a electronic meets avant-garde, dark pop opus which touches upon themes of the human condition and losing one’s consciousness.
Speaking on Blackout, Belle confesses, “The song is about blacking out with alcohol. As a teenager in todays times getting drunk is a necessity and drinking from a young age invites many mistakes.”
She adds, “I think for me there has always been so much self hate around my drunk choices so writing this song I really wanted to capture the anger and the confusion that that brings. The song is for the listeners that lost control and feel guilty. Let’s process and let go of it together.”
We really appreciate the openness and authentic energy that Belle Ford shares with her artistry and self-produced sound, discussing subjects that don’t always get shared, with the purpose of allowing healing for both the artist and listener!
Fans of Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey and Rosalia will definitely be able too connect with Belle Ford‘s sound and vibe, although it is clear that the rising artist from Berlin is creating a universe of her own.
We have added Blackout to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream Belle Ford‘s wider discography including Oh Boy and Selfless.
