Establishing the mood with a luscious synthscape fused with textures and percussive intricacies, we are already hypnotized by Hele‘s debut single, Air Between Us.
The opus expands into an atmospheric and electronic ambient energy, which feels cinematic and relaxing simultaneously. A violin takes on the role of protagonist a third of the way though the track as the sonic landscape ripples and pans. Plucked strings add emotion before light cymbal crashes and further textures envelope us.
We learn that Hele’s Air Between Us is an ode to nomadic existence and in fact features string layers, piano, synths and beats. Her debut album, Inoro is a heartfelt curation of sonic landscapes constructed with live strings, keys, and found sounds and field recordings from around the world.
UK composer and producer, Andy Dollerson masterfully helps bring this blend of neoclassical, ambient, and experimental to life, drawing on his deft experience with production and electronica.
Hele is the solo project of classically trained musician and composer, Richele Kuhlmann. With her second EP currently in the works, she is deep into a new season of writing, recording, and collaborating.
We love the energy that Hele is creating with her dimensional sound, and anticipate further releases from the rising artist. Meanwhile, we have added Air Between Us to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we also stream her follow up single, Jhoha.
