Establishing the mood with a power pop energy and luscious guitar details, we are immediately hypnotized by Lorenzo Gabanizza and Jeff Christie‘s collaborative track, I Guess I Am the Only One.
Opening with the introspective lyrics, “Even when I’m down, falling to the ground, I see the people frown, I see all the unhappy eyes…” Lorenzo Gabanizza and Jeff Christie share a powerful story and deep message, fused with a classic rock meets Americana soundscape.
Speaking on the meaning of I Guess I Am the Only One, Lorenzo confesses, “It’s an accusation to the way people live life, today, kingdom of egotism, taking care more of the concrete things such as money, nice cars…And nobody anymore seems to be interested in what really matters in life: LOVE.”
He adds, “It’s also the aching accusation towards the way society seems to exclude diversity instead of welcoming it. They see it as a danger, not as a richness.”
In essence it feels like Lorenzo and Jeff want to amplify more love and share their sound in the hopes to inspire listeners to do the same.
Jeff Christie is best known for his track Yellow River, which sold 30 million copies. The two have collaborated before on the single, You’re Not There, which hit number One on iTunes South Africa.
Elaborating on the unique background of the production of I Guess I Am the Only One, Lorenzo tells us, “Involved along with me and Jeff, are the American Billboard charter Rusty Wright, the British pianist Chris Lydon, and two original members of the band Christie: Paul Fenton (who’s also T-Rex drummer) and Kev Moore (Christie, Saxon, B.C. Sweet).”
The mastering of I Guess I Am the Only One was handled by Grammy awarded Greg Calbi, who was an engineer for Lennon, Dylan and Bowie; and Steve Fallone, who received his Grammy this year for mastering Lady Gaga.
We love the energy that Lorenzo Gabanizza and Jeff Christie share with their collaborative effort, which feels authentic and reflective of their purpose to help manifest more LOVE.
