Departure releases dimensional, subversive and inspiring new single, Fresco, parce

Setting the mood with a pulsing percussion, glitched keys and a celestial riser before a vocal sample grabs our attention, Departure opens Fresco, parce with intrigue and intricacy.

The opus expands with more vocal add libs, a luscious saxophone and cerebral detailing that have our minds spinning in awe. We are obsessed with the soundscape.

Departure strips it back for a guitar solo and saxophone drops before shakers and risers take us back to the dimensional sonic landscape we were so lost in.

Speaking on the meaning of Fresco, parce, Departure confesses, “This song is an ode to ignoring the second guessing, doubtful and judgemental voice in my head.”

The rising artist from London continues, “I suspect this is a malady that affects all creative people, especially independent artists: the universe is filled with information, tutorials, classes, courses and opinions that reverberate during the creative process. This is definitely a double edged sword.”

“Sure, it is great being able to learn how to do pretty much anything with a few clicks but it is a slippery slope whose symptoms include: not remembering that rules might be broken, everyone has a different taste and most importantly that you are your arts’ only master”, Departure adds with galactic wisdom.

“I wanted to represent this flip in mentality and this effort to disregard the external choir by flipping the common structure of songs that build into a grand finale and instead, I try to seamlessly take the listener from a euphoric energy state into a soft mellow mellifluous environment”, concludes Departure as he inspires us with his talent and intricacy.

In line with his quote “you are your arts’ only master”, it is clear that Departure only has himself to compete with, and the dimensionality of Fresco, parce proves just that!

We have added Fresco, parce to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Departure‘s wider discography!
