Establishing the mood with a subtle whirring texture and percussive detailing, Lue Beige open his latest single, The Love with luscious saxophone, and intricate guitars and keys.
The Love expands into a rock meets jazz hybrid energy, with the lyrics, “Why d’you have to leave me lonely, darling, she said ‘I had to leave you lonely darling’ as she blamed it on love…”, to tell the story of “the sacrifices that people make for love”.
Lue Beige who is also known as Luis Coreas performs rhythm guitar and vocals, Henry Flores delivers dimensional bass and keys, whilst Anthony Tavarez plays lead guitar, with Aleksandr Osenenko on drums and Nico Martin playing exquisite saxophone.
It is no surprise that the outfit from New Jersey has already performed various shows in the Hudson County area, as well as shows for Groove on Grove and the Pushing Up the Daisies Festival. They confess, “We are part of a very exciting and emerging scene of art that is located in Hudson County. The love and community being built is a beautiful thing to be a part of considering this has been our homes for our whole lives.”
Elaborating on the message and connection with the track, Luis tells us, “I’ve been a heartless romantic for as long I can remember.” He cites jazz, indie rock, soul music, neo-soul and alternative R&B as his influences, which we can feel coming through in the genre expansive opus, although it is clear that Lue Beige is creating a universe of his own.
We love the authenticity and passion with which Lue Beige creates, and have added The Love to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream Lue Beige‘s wider discography including Cleaned Up and Headshot.
