Immersing us with an industrial electric guitar detail and the lyrics, “Penny for your thoughts you said, when you came back to town…“, we are already hypnotized by the double single release from Dull of Down, kicking off with the track, Lullaby Time.
The opus expands with an authentic hard rock energy, and we love the introspective lyricism from the Finnish icons, who touch upon themes of the human condition, empowerment and the concept of “having that Lullaby Time”.
There is an out of this world guitar solo, a luscious and emotive breakdown within the track which builds into the final reprise and we are hooked!
The second track, Raymond, opens with an enigmatic bass and features intricate percussion with a wild electric guitar introduction that has us salivating. The song touches upon themes of fame, courage and selling one’s soul.
This marks the fourth double single release from the Finnish rock band. The single was played at Astia Studio and was recorded and mixed by Miitri Aaltonen. Like the band’s previous releases, the mastering was done in Nashville USA by Steve Corrao.
Raymond also comes with a powerful, cinematic, film-noir music video showcasing an epic performance from Dull of Down, showcasing their incredible skillset and passion for their artistry. The visual is created by Lasse Hyytinen and Janne Ruippo.
It is worth noting that since the previous release, the band’s crew has also changed. Drummer Kim Rintamäki and bassist Jari Kärkkäinen joined the
Dull of Down at the end of year 2021. We love both artist’s performances on the tracks!
“The band’s activities are also largely the chemistry between the players and common goals, so it’s great that the right guys were found in the band”, says singer-songwriter and guitarist, Lasse Hyytinen.
We have added both songs to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream the wider discography from the rising stars!
