J’Moris releases powerful and self-realized new single, Being Humble

Establishing the mood with an orchestral energy featuring elegant plucked and chopped strings, piano riffs and vocal textures, Hillsboro, Texas-based rapper and storyteller J’Moris opens his new single, Being Humble with the assertive lyrics, “I think it’s funny you so bummy but you’re giving me advice, telling me how I should grind but you ain’t did it in your life…”

The opus expands into a vibrant Hip-Hop meets orchestral trap hybrid energy, which has us fully hypnotized. We are in awe of J’Moris‘s epic flow, and the poetic nuance of his lyricism.

Being Humble marks the artist’s first new release since his 2022 full-length album Moris Better: Loveless Confessions. The single pulls from Moris’s charismatic lyrical playbook as he waxes street philosophy over pulsing, downtempo rap beats and ample melodies produced by Anywaywell. Being Humble reveals the Texan wordsmith in a fresh and untouchable state of mind, ready to enjoy the journey of life to the fullest.

Speaking on the boisterous new single, J’Moris says, “What’s the point of having your cake if you can’t eat it? It’s hard to enjoy the fruits of your labor when being humble.”

The narrative of the track is bold and confident, and it is clear that J’Moris knows what is wants, and more importantly what he needs. He is picky about who he surrounds himself with and Being Humble touches upon themes of abundance, the human condition, self-realization and our protagonist’s artistic prowess, there is even a nod to the iconic Michael Jackson!

When asked if he’d give any advice to his younger self, Moris says, “In the great words of the late Nipsey, life is a marathon so I would tell myself not to get tired of the journey but instead embrace it. It makes you value the destination that much more.”

Being Humble comes with a cinematic music video directed by Artist Named Chi, who also collaborated with J’Moris on Activated and features an epic performance from the artist, his muse. money props and cerebral glitches which help dimensionalize the visual!

We love J’Moris‘s flow and energy and have added Being Humble to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream his wider discography including Too Spicy and Magic!
