Establishing the mood with enigmatic, arpeggiated acoustic guitar riffs, Harpa opens her new single Hollow with atmospheric vocals singing the lyrics, “Watch the dust settle and I’ll sweep up the floor, yes I’ll cry when it’s over, but I’ve been here before, and I’ll love with my whole heart, my body and soul, so don’t be surprised that I am so Hollow…”
We are immediately obsessed with the passion that Harpa delivers along with exquisite harmonies as she sings about her vulnerable soul and “the cost of loving with your entire being.”
Harpa‘s voice is out of this world, comparable to icons like Adele, and it is clear how in tune she his with her emotions and the opus feels authentic and relatable.
The rising artist from Nottingham in the U.K. says that Hollow is about “the anguish of feeling yourself falling again, knowing the price you will have to pay, and being helpless; unable to stop yourself”.
Harpa expands, “It’s about a vicious cycle of pouring yourself into someone, leaving yourself empty, and somehow finding the will to do it all over again.”
We have added Hollow to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream Harpa‘s debut single, I’ve Been in Love Before.
