We recently featured Desmond Parson for his emotive ode to love, Mend the Pieces, so we were thrilled to also have the chance to review Possibly, the first single from his EP, Resolution.
Kicking off with immersive, scintillating keys, a signature for the rising artist fused with a zipping synth which expands into rolling drums, Desmond Parson opens Possibly with the situational lyrics, “Pardon me just had to see if this empty seat was taken, saw you there solitarily, thank you for the room your making…“
We love Desmond Parson‘s dulcet alternative R&B tone, which lends itself to a nostalgic energy at the same time as bringing a sense of futurism with his flow and spacious production.
Desmond tells us that Possibly is “a playful look at love”, lyrical highlights include the charming and flirtatious “Could it be it was destiny or meant that we should be aquatinted…”, and the genuine and affectionate “Possibly can I be your cup of tea every morning, I can be your maître d or the one who does the pouring, just say to me that you agree to be the one I’m adoring…”
Possibly comes with a cinematic, narrative-driven music video which sees our protagonist in his element alongside Brigette Johnson. The visual is shot, directed and edited by Davonne D’Neil.
We are enamoured with Desmond‘s poetic authenticity and it is clear that he not only understands love energy but has a romantic soul that any partner would be lucky to experience. Possibly is proof of that.
We have added Possibly to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream the Resolution EP in full!
