Setting the tone with a rippling drum riff and electric bass, with exquisite and intricate mandolin fused with acoustic guitar, we are already hypnotized with TerraTara‘s release of A Love, Tantalize.
Opening with the lyrics, “You came over me again…”, TerraTara takes us on a folk-pop meets reggae fusion journey telling the story of “love that is just out of reach”. We are in awe of TerraTara‘s vocal harmonies, and emotive delivery, which is charming and sensual.
Our protagonist asks, “When will we breathe again? A Love, Tanatlize…“ with a seductive and introspective energy. Speaking on the meaning of the track, TerraTara confesses, “This song is a cry for a lover that is far away, across the ocean and in a distant land.”
TerraTara performs vocals, mandolin and additional guitar, whilst Neil Symonette plays drums and Jermaine Johnson delivers electric bass. The trio met and recorded the track in Nassau, Bahamas, which feels like a cohesive fit for the soundscape that they have created. We could also definitely imagine A Love, Tanatlize being played on Fia Radio in France!
Elaborating on the meaning of the composition, TerraTara adds that the within the narrative, “It is impossible to reach that lover, because many obstacles are in the path and so much is left unknown about the future. Many promises are made and that is what keeps the dream alive, because hope is at the very heart of love. It is like a carrot, that is kept dangling, but never tasted, however, life will eat it eventually.”
We love TerraTara‘s Earth Goddess energy and have added A Love, Tanatlize to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we explore TerraTara‘s wider discography including Waiting for the Rain and Female Sayler!
