We recently featured enigmatic artist Frank Joshua for his profound, cerebral and emotive album, Sense Life, and also included his single release of the mesmerizing Loneliest Place In The World in our New Music Spotlight a few weeks ago. It’s fair to say we stan, so we were obviously very excited to experience the Azido 88 Remix of the opening track of the album, Rain.
The original of Rain is filled with poetic lyricism taking us on a vulnerable journey as our protagonist sings, “I came by your window tonight and I can’t stop the pouring of the rain” whilst he serenades his muse. The remix opens with enigmatic guitar and pulsating bass with a textured riser, and features a more syncopated energy than the album version.
We love the strings before a lo-fi vocal chop drop captivates us as Frank Joshua sings “stop the Rain”. The Azido 88 Remix is the second remix release from Sense Life which cohesively fuses Frank’s warm, beautiful vocals and dark lyrics, into Azido 88’s hip-hop style.
Azido 88 is a well established, Asia based, UK born, producer, DJ and finger drummer, with over 600,000 monthly Spotify listeners, and the remix is unique in it’s own right, keeping the emotion from Joshua’s vocals but still dimensionalizing the opus with Azido 88‘s specific energy.
The remix comes with a James Bond style animated and psychedelic visual by Diego Monfredinin, which has us hypnotized. We have added the Azido 88 Remix to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue streaming Sense Life!
