Setting the tone with an ethereal frequency and synthetic, melodic pulses as an atmospheric vocal sings the title of the track, Daniel Bohn opens his single, Divinity with intrigue and purpose.
The opus expands with textured drums and rising synths delivering an almost new wave mood, before we are met with a passionate death metal scream and a change in frequency as Daniel Bohn takes us on a more subversive journey.
Daniel tells us the song is about “our hero discovering [that] his deity or (God) betrayed him, and his ultimate loss of faith in the Gods…” His lyricism is powerful and we love the guitar solo fused with astral synths and tortured vocals. Overall, we appreciate the dimensionality of the composition.
Speaking on his art, Daniel exclaims that he is “a one man band living his dream! I encourage you to journey with me through the boundless realms and experience prog metal with dark and powerful soundtrack themes intertwined.”
Daniel Bohn plays guitar, drums, bass, piano, synth and vocals on the track and cites Buried and Me, Porcupine Tree, Opeth, The Ocean and Obscura as influences, although it is clear that he is creating a universe of his own.
We have added Divinity to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream Daniel Bohn‘s album, Colors of the Land.
