The Mars McClanes take us on a trip with spirited new single, Wherever You Go

We recently featured The Mars McClanes as they eased our stress with their wisdom on their vibrant single, The Worriers, so we were thrilled to hear that they just released the brand new, Wherever You Go.

Opening the opus with the lyrics, “Let’s hit the road…” we are indeed ready to roll with The Mars McClanes as they deliver an ode to the open road with a classic power pop meets indie pop energy.

Some lyrical highlights include the pre-chorus, “you got a car, you got a van, you’ve got some friends, and I got a plan…” and the infectious hook, Wherever You Go, I’ll be with you, smiling back in your rear view…”

Wherever You Go is the third release from The Mars McClanes. Brian Corley and Russ Chapman co-wrote the song before flying out to Nashville to record with drummer Paul Constantine in the basement of Waylon Jennings’ old house, Southern Comfort.

Speaking on the concept of the song, Brian Corley tells us, “Every summer needs a song about the open road, and this is ours”.

Russ Chapman adds, “This track sounds great with the windows down. Wars, divorces – those themes creep into other tracks – Wherever You Go says want what you’ve got now, and who you’re with.”

“True”, chimes in Paul Constantine, as he states, “No reverbed-out minor chords in sight. Might as well have something to hum on the way home.”

We love the dimensionality of the The Mars McClanes and how they can indeed deliver a song like Wherever You Go at the same time as Riddle and The Worriers, really demonstrating the versatility creative nature of the trio.

We have added Wherever You Go to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream the wider discography of The Mars McClanes!
