Setting the tone with vocal samples and magnetic guitar detailing, Hallbeck opens his new single, Dagarna med dig (which is Swedish for “Days with you”) with atmosphere and intrigue.
The song expands into a vibrant indie-pop hybrid soundscape with immersive guitars, luscious harmonies and poetic vocals. Speaking on the meaning of Dagarna med dig, Hallbeck confesses, “I wanted to celebrate second chances and those moments in our lives when everything feels just right. Those moments where you are in harmony.”
“In a world where everything seems to be gong in all the wrong direction right now, I wanted a moment of harmony and positivity”, he adds.
We can definitely feel that energy come though in the opus which has us hypnotized. Hallbeck elaborates on his history, “I started writing music and touring back in 1988. Went on a world tour with a Canadian act in 1990 and spent most of the 90s on the road in various line ups including The Miscellaneous, Perry and The Poor Boys and Swedish artist Micke Fhinn.”
When discussing his influences, Hallbeck cites Killing Joke and The Cure, along with Håkan Hellström, Oskar Linnros, Foo Fighters and Wilco, although it is clear that Hallbeck is creating a universe of his own.
Speaking passionately on his new musical venture, Hallbeck says, “It was just my time! I have been involved in so many projects and bands. As a guitar player, producer and engineer. Even as a record company owner some years ago. But stepping oput and owning my own voice and talent is a big step for me.”
Hallbeck continues, “Now, after finding my own voice, I write songs that i hope will touch on all things that make us human. The first single is about finding love. Taking the chance when it comes, even in your middle age. Happiness and love is out there for us all if we dare to find it. Dagarna med dig is also about those little moments of happiness in life.”
We love the energy and message that Dagarna med dig conveys and have added the song to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we anticipate more releases from the talented Hallbeck.
