Serving up a luscious alternative pop frequency, The Lunar Keys open their new single, Oxygen Type with the situational lyrics, “If you don’t go out tonight, you’re lyin’, you just sit here in the dark, alone….”
The opus expands with passionate, layered vocal delivery, whirring guitars and poetic lyrics, including the hook “could it be you’re the atmosphere, I will be your oxygen…
The Lunar Keys self describe as “four anxious types from the suburbs of London with too many tunes and nervous energy trapped in their psyches not to be in this band”. This really comes to life in their music and lyricism, and we for one, are glad that they are channeling their intense emotions into art.
It is no surprise that the band, who aligned in 2020 have already been featured on BBC Introducing and long-listed for Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent 2020.
Speaking on the meaning of the song, The Lunar Keys tell us that Oxygen Type encapsulates “The feeling you get to impulsively launch into the night, on a high, bursting with total excitement at living every breath of a prospective night out to the maximum.“
We can’t get enough and have added Oxygen Type to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream their wider discography including Stop This and Silent Ricochet.
