Establishing a mood with a cerebral panning frequency and textured details, whilst an immersive bass emerges, Eckotrigger open their single Decoy with the conceptual lyrics, “Stood up, above the clouds…”
Decoy expands to take on a vibrant ethnomusical soundscape with intricate percussion as Eckotrigger sing emotionally about being shunned by the people that they know. For the chorus, the song explodes with a glistening synthcape fused with an an alt-rock meets nu-metal vocal delivery.
Speaking on the release of Decoy, the duo says, “The track represents the pressures of life.” Eckotrigger is an electronic/alternative creative partnership formed in London UK, comprising of producer and instrumentalist Paul Dogra and vocalist and lyricist Joel Alexander.
Having been in many different bands over the years and frustrated with the difficulties that derive from a band experience, they formed based on their shared appreciation and influence of artists such as Depeche Mode, NIN, The Cure, and David Bowie, although it is clear that Eckotrigger are creating a dimension of their own.
It is no surprise that Eckotrigger already have received lots of radio play and have been featured on the BBC focusing on mental health and addiction and the importance of music.
We have added Decoy to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we continue to stream Collide and New Narcissism from their growing discography!
