Establishing a mood with glistening synth details leading into a divergent and immersive bass frequency crescendo with glitched elements, Archer opens his single Bad For You with a bold and cerebral wail.
Bad For You expands with pitched and enigmatic vocals that deliver an alternative and sometimes intense mood. Thematically, the song is driven by “a lust for love that encapsulates all that is bad”.
We learn that whilst coping with the vices that consume him, this song is about Archer‘s desire to find someone who, has scars, habits of iniquity and a desire for a love that feeds that flame. The single marks Archer’s first self-produced release, and follows the success of his previous EP, Amongst The Lies I Tell Myself.
Archer‘s discography of emotionally driven songs blends powerful electronic productions with “found sound” and real world instruments, reinforced by sensitively powerful, gritty vocals; which all comes together to create the unique sounding blend of rock, R&B and electronica that is Archer.
Archer (Nathan Jon Copland) was born in Peterborough UK January 2001 where, from a young age he was always drawn to the stage. What started out as exploration of the performing arts, in drama classes and choirs, soon developed into Archer writing his first songs in late primary school.
We have added Bad For You to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whist we immerse ourselves in Archer’s wider discography including Lifeboat and Amongst The Lies I Tell Myself.
