Setting the tone with bold guitars and an expansive alternative rock frequency, Touch the Clouds open their latest single, Feeling Light with an emotive and atmospheric performance.
The song expands as the band takes us through how they wake up, connection with the universe, and that feeling when you are literally, Feeling Light. Painted with visuals of floating, being at one with yourself, cultivating one’s mind, the opus feels meditative, even though fused with a guitar-driven energy.
Feeling Light is the first single from the upcoming 15-song LP from Detroit scene veterans Touch the Clouds, produced by Joe Philips, Erik Maluchnik, Adam Cox and mastered at Third Man Mastering by His Name is Alive paragon, Warren Defever.
Speaking on the meaning of Feeling Light, the band confesses, “The song is about finding your centre in today’s frenetic world – making the time to sit still in the sun, take a deep breath, and let it all go – feeling both photons and relief.”
We love the reprise from chaos that Touch the Clouds offer with their artistry. Fans of Jimmy Eat World, FIDLAR, Smashing Pumpkins, Dogleg, Dinosaur Jr., Sunny Day Real Estate and Joyce Manor will definitely be able to connect with Feeling Light, although it is clear that Touch the Clouds are creating a universe of their own, fit for a more conscious dimension.
Though a certain generation may know him from post punk local heroes, Few and Far Between, artist Joe Philips is nonetheless recognized by throngs of millennials and zoomers as the voice behind the theme song to wildly popular TV series and movie Pokémon: Black & White.
We have added the magnetic Feeling Light to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we stream the wider discography of Touch the Clouds including Virginia and Working Harder!
