Setting the tone with enigmatic and rippling guitar, expanding with pulsing double bass notes, The Horse Puppets open their new single, Let It Echo with the conceptual lyrics, “There’s a space in between everything, never seen that space before, I’ll let that echo, I’ll let that echo…”
The immersive soundscape lends itself perfectly to the theme of the track, which evolves into a hypnotic folk ballad, drawing upon personal experience of grief during the pandemic, and inspired by the beauty of life and death.
We are in awe of the strings and sonic frequency produced by Paul Bytheway, and the vocal delivery and range from writer and singer Helen Bytheway as she sings “it’s time to leave…”, emotionally and assertively.
It is no surprise The Horse Puppets have been featured on Tom Robinson’s Fresh On The Net with a track from their debut album Sorry For The Inconvenience, and Let It Echo has already been performed live for Sky TV’s Live From The Edge series, presented by DJ Mark Radcliffe.
The song also has a cinematic music video shot mostly in Snowdonia on a sunny day. The visual has beautiful visuals of the landscape, an acted performance from Helen and aerial shots including Let It Echo written on the beach.
In 2022, The Horse Puppets will be playing at several festivals (Bearded Theory, Mello Fest, Costa Del Folk) and have been shortlisted for showcasing at the English Folk Expo.
We have added Let It Echo to our New Music Spotlight playlist whilst we explore the wider discography of The Horse Puppets including their debut album Sorry For The Inconvenience.
