Setting the tone with warped electric guitar details and a celestial cymbal before transforming into a hybrid alternative funk frequency, Scustin open their new single Sick Of Making Love To You with the introspective lyrics, “Unreal expectations, grab hold of my fixations…”
As the track expands, we experience a dimensional soundscape, whilst Scustin take us on a lyrical journey exploreing the sexualization of the media, and output of adult content by personifying it as a lover who “makes you think romance is dead”.
The cerebral and intelligently constructed opus has us hypnotized, and we love the clarity of the vocals and cerebral nature of the high concept group, as lead singer Larry delivers memorable hooks such as “who needs imagination, when I’ve got simulation…”
Sick Of Making Love To You is the sophomore release from Scustin, a Dublin band that combines storytelling, alternative funk, R&B, Pop and wild humour. The band cites an instrumental sound that takes influence from artists like Mild High Club, Homeshake and D.R.A.M., although it is clear that they are developing a soundscape of their own.
We have added Sick Of Making Love To You to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we immerse ourselves in Killer – the debut single from Scustin!
