Setting the tone with an immersive alternative rock frequency featuring vocal details fused with an enigmatic guitar soundscape, before evolving into a driving melodic metal vibe, The Infinity Process open their latest single, Losing Reality with the introspective lyrics, “Where did it all go wrong?”
As the song expands, we experience a passionate and thought-provoking message from the Toledo, Ohio rock band, which touches upon themes of the human condition, and more specifically how some people are “void of all emotion, empathy and basic things that make you human, and they use others to get what they want no matter the cost.”
Speaking on the energy of the release, the band says, “The music style of Losing Reality continues a conscious effort to evolve our style, song structures, and song-writing to a slightly darker, heavier and more complex sound from earlier releases.”
They elaborate, “For those fans who heard our last release, Sinister, this song ties in with that to even further describe the evil forces at work in the world and how some people live to manipulate and control others.”
We love the wisdom that The Infinity Process create with and we particularly connect with the self aware lyrics, “Creating your illusion, their world’s not real anymore..”
The band cites Deftones, Helmet, Tool, Pink Floyd and Muse as their inspirations, although it is clear that they are creating a universe of their own.
Guitarist and bassist Jason Tingley, who also performs backing vocals, adds, “Losing Reality is the continuation of our bands evolution from a ho-hum verse-chorus-verse-chorus rock band that was admittedly growing bored with ourselves, into a band that puts a little more thought, experimentation, and art into our sound”.
Needless to say, we are obsessed and have added Losing Reality to our New Music Spotlight playlist, whilst we explore the wider discography of The Infinity Process!
