We recently featured Sadie Nix for her emotive and inspiring debut single, Taylor Case (That Means You), so we were thrilled to hear that the rising artist from Brighton had just released the brand new, Same Song.
Setting the tone with an immersive riser, before evolving into an anthemic pop soundscape with pounding drums, Sadie Nix opens Same Song with the assertive lyrics, “You can say what you like, you can use all your fights, all the flowers and chocolates won’t make it right…”
Same Song expands into an emotive story of the end of a relationship and how music is therapy for Sadie. She delivers powerhouse vocals and assertive passion with her performance.
Deep-rooted in Sadie Nix’s artistry is a lifelong passion and appreciation for music. She has always been drawn to the unique powers of music, whether it be to mend a broken heart or unify a crowd of 80,000 people. Born into a military family, Sadie’s childhood was nomadic and so are her music influences, ranging from David Bowie, Dolly Parton, Prince and Taylor Swift, although it is clear that Sadie is creating a universe of her own.
During the downtime of quarantine Sadie was able to take the time to truly focus on writing and recording her own music. Starting her music career at the age of 38 means that Sadie Nix’s music has a distinct maturity and confidence to it.
It is no surprise that Same Song has already been featured on BBC Introducing and unlike many of the younger artists that are popular today, Sadie Nix’s music does not have superficial references to late nights or big parties. Rather, her lyrics have a genuine and authentic feel that adds a unique depth to her music.
Currently, Sadie Nix is working to prepare for the release of her much-anticipated debut album Friends Get You Killed in Summer 2022. We have added Same Song to our New Music Spotlight playlist and continue streaming Taylor Case (That Means You).
