Setting the tone with and 70s hybrid soul-rock percussive energy, laced with vocals riffs singing “oooooh”, Cameron Bethany opens his new single Love Is A Bill with the lyrics, “Sweet sugar, you seem familiar, I know we met before, and you may not remember, but I swear that you came for more…”
The song expands to deliver a high concept reimagining of how we are reincarnated on planet Earth a multitude of times, and often we have met our twin flames before. Cameron Bethany confirms that he is the chosen one.
Expanding on the meaning of the song, Cameron says, “Love Is A Bill is a song about worth and self- value. Knowing that your love is not free. A heart deserves things that money can’t buy, such as time, patience, admiration, intimacy, all of the things that make you feel more like YOU.”
“My love is a bill, you should pay it with a smile…” sings Cameron on the hook, establishing his message amidst a luxurious, nostalgic and intricate soundscape.
The solo artist cites QUEEN, Pharrell, Jazmine Sullivan, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder and Brandy as influences, but it is clear that Cameron Bethany is creating a universe of his own. The song itself is inspired by The Beatles, Temptations, 70s music and Freddie Mercury, which we can feel coming though in Cameron’s exquisite output. We are in love with the guitar solo!
We appreciate the sonic direction that Cameron Bethany is taking with his artistry, and it is no surprise that he has already garnered a Netflix synch deal. We have added Love Is A Bill to our New Music Spotlight playlist and continue streaming his wider discography including Brand New!
