Setting the tone with an alternative country meets pop-rock vibe, we are already mesmerized by Tasha Blackmore‘s new single, Brown Eyes.
The guitar-driven anthem showcases Tasha’s epic vocals and conceptual song writing skills. Hailing from Northumberland, but with “a heart full of Nashville”, Tasha cites influences including including Taylor Swift and Staind, although it is clear that she is carving her own path.
We love Tasha’s narrative driven style of song writing and lyrical highlights include the romantic hook, “Your deep brown eyes, you got me hypnotized, I can’t turn away, I’m here to stay…”
The song also feels like it could fits perfectly on the Buffy The Vampire Slayer soundtrack, and we are excited that Brown Eyes is the first release of several upcoming singles, demonstrating her new sound!
The song comes with a cinematic visual that takes us on a journey where Tasha throws stones into the sea, walks and drives through a beach side town, has an emotional breakdown in a car, throws belongings into a field and then leaves the car and wipes of her fingerprints.
A self-confessed “emotional junkie”, Tasha draws from life experience to create her narrative. She says, “I write music that is inspired by personal experiences and feelings. I try to translate them into honest lyrics that resonate with listeners: songs that they can relate to and apply to their own lives.”
It is no surprise that Tasha has been played featured by BBC Introducing in the North East and Brown Eyes definitely demonstrates more momentum for the rising star.
We have added Brown Eyes to our New Music Spotlight playlist and continue streaming the wider discography of Tasha Blackmore including Last Goodbye and High Time.
