Setting the tone with an enigmatic rising texture, before expanding into a driving acoustic rock frequency with raw instrumentation, including a harmonica, Said Sara opens their single, Sea with an emotive delivery.
Reminding us of iconic 90s rock made for cinema, but with it’s own unique high concept dimension, David Benson aka Said Sara answers the defining question: “what is progressive post-folk?”
Creating a universe of his own, with a sense of authenticity, particularly in his vocal delivery, the San Francisco based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist delivers a passionate performance across vocals and instrumentation.
Sea is the follow up from Said Sara’s singe, Bleedways, which was released last year, delivering a slightly darker edge, demonstrating David’s creative range.
David is the long-time drummer of old school death metal combatants Acephalix, and spent on his new venture, performs all of the instruments including vocals, guitar, harmonica, banjo, drums, and programming. He also mixed Sea at The Depths, San Francisco, California and enlisted the support of Jesse Nichols at The Atomic Garden West, Oakland for mastering!
We have added Sea to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been streaming Said Sara‘s wider discography including I Star As You.
