“Let’s just Run Away”, sings Jocelyn Arndt emotively, as she opens the latest single from sibling duo Jocelyn & Chris, aptly titled Run Away.
As the song expands, we experience an acoustic guitar with light percussion as Jocelyn continues the narrative with the introspective lyrics, “You gave and inch, they took a mile, you have them hell, they took away your reason to smile…” as the song touches upon themes of escapism, boundaries and the human condition.
Drums and additional guitars immerse us further as the song evolves into a bold pop-rock frequency with a relatable theme lead by Jocelyn’s flawless and dynamic vocal.
Run Away is the second single from Jocelyn & Chris’s eighth album Favorite Ghosts, out on May 27. The record is produced by longtime collaborator David Bourgeois and 7-time Grammy winner Joel Moss!
The emotive middle eight of Run Away really has us hypnotized as Jocelyn sings “Your bones are aching, your hands are shaking, your heart is breaking, I’m a chance worth taking…” whilst the guitars build around her leading us into an epic vocal as she sings the hook of the song and it’s epic finale.
It is no surprise that Jocelyn & Chris have charted four consecutive commercial radio singles in the Billboard AAA Top 40, taken two records to #1 on the Relix Jambands Top 30 Album Chart, and appeared nationally on NBC’s Today Show.
Run Away comes with a film noir music video directed by Chromoscope Pictures, which has also been added on rotation at MTV!
We have added Run Away to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in the wider discography of the magnetic duo, including Sugar and Spice and Outta My Head.
