Setting the tone with a single, enigmatic key before expanding into a guitar driven alternative rock frequency with glitch details and immersive drums, we are already hypnotized by Ives Electric‘s debut single Poetry.
Ives delivers an enigmatic and subversive vocal reminiscent of bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, touching upon the theme of our bittersweet reality, and how “one should hold onto beliefs…”
Poetry also comes with a Warholian pop art style inverted music video, in synch with the artworks for the release, where the rising artist gives us a magnetic performance, along with his trusted guitar.
The single is the first from Ives Electric‘s forthcoming album Black Light. Ives is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer living in London, U.K. and has been in the music industry for many years, working with various major record labels.
Poetry was produced throughout the course of several studio-sessions, including sessions at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, and was mastered by the award-winning John Davis (Led Zeppelin, U2, Blur etc.), whom Jimmy Page describes as ‘a master of his craft’!
Names aside, it is clear that Ives Electric is making a serious debut with Poetry, and we are excited to hear what is to come. In the meantime, we have added Poetry to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
