Setting the tone with an enigmatic alternative rock energy with exquisite chords that immediately have us in our feels, The Parlophonics open their latest single, Heaven Can Wait with emotive and poetic lyricism.
“And my soul just slides away, through the window of my mind, I can see the pale blue sky waiting for me, must be you who’s rushing by, heaven helps the ones that try…” sings Hugh Macdonald the lead vocalist of The Parlophonics as he delivers introspection regarding the concept of existentialism.
The band consists of songwriter Robert Horvath, who writes the songs and performs guitars and bass, Fernando Perdomo on guitars and drums and Hugh Macdonald on vocals, but Heaven Can Wait also features the legendary talents of Denny Seiwell (Billy Joel, Wings) on drums!
We are in love with the 60s meets 70s tinged soundscape with a clean and modern production value, textured vocal harmonies, the short guitar solo and the profound meaning of Heaven Can Wait.
Lyrical highlights include the inspiring hook, “Isn’t it so, Heaven Can Wait, help me to be everything that you want…” and the reassuring, “I will do my best to keep you from the dark”.
We have added Heaven Can Wait to our New Music Spotlight playlist and continue to stream the wider discography of The Parlophonics including Staring at the Sun and Feel The Light.
