We recently featured Paul Loren for his polished and optimistic, 60s-inspired cover of Hold On, I’m Comin’, so we were thrilled to hear that Paul had just released his latest cover, Something In The Way She Moves.
Starting off with elegant piano detailing, Paul Loren opens the opus, originally by James Taylor, with atmospheric vocals singing the name of the song and the escapist lyricism, “Something in the way she moves, looks my way and calls my name, it seems to leave this troubled world behind…”
As the song expands, we experience a reflective story based on the “power place that the women in our lives hold”. The release is timed for Mothers’ Day in America and as always, Paul’s soundscape is exquisite, with cohesive instrumentation supporting his luxurious vocals.
The song features Paul on piano, with Zach Jones (who is now on tour with Sting) on drums and additional vocals, and Oscar Albis Rodriguez performing guitars, bass and backing vocals. Paul cites Beatles, Beach Boys, The Band, Randy Newman and Paul Simon as inspirations, but it is clear that the rising artist is creating a soundscape of his own.
We have added Something In The Way She Moves to our New Music Spotlight playlist and continue to stream Paul’s wider discography including Still and Marlena.
