Setting the vibe with immersive, dynamic and textured synths fused with an electric guitar, Jesabel opens her latest single This Small Town with the lyrics, “Where I’m from, they don’t care for fancy things…”
As the song expands, the artist who is based in Jacksonville, Florida describes her personal perspective growing up in a small town in Georgia. This Small Town is immersive and warm, whilst Jesabel simultaneously reminisces and creates a dialogue and social commentary with her lyricism.
We love the atmospheric, electronic pop-folk instrumentation that accompanies the artist and her commentary on the human condition and not quite belonging, but maintaining that love and fondness.
The song is accompanied by a cinematic music video which opens with church bells and delivers a vibrant and playful performance from Jesabel in her former home town.
Speaking on her artistry, Jesabel says, “My music is a lot like me, eclectic. I create, unrestrained by genre or expectation. My sound tends to blend folk and pop, adding a lil country root’s twang and patina from the soulful pursuit of music’s divine high.”
“Each song hits a moment in time. A vibe I feel. A timestamp of where I’m at, and I’m settling more and more into that. My only goal is to truthfully bring forth the songs playing in my head with hopes they find the ears they were meant for”, continues the rising artist.
We have added This Small Town to our New Music Spotlight playlist and continue to stream Jesabel‘s wider discography including Forgiveness and Every Excuse.
