We recently wrote about Max Edwards‘ emotive single, Heaven, so we were super excited to hear that the rising artist from Canada had just released a new track, Blame Me, as part of his one track per month series.
Setting the tone with textured plucked guitar and a celestial tone, Max opens Blame Me with the romantic lyrics, “I think through all of the shit I have to do, I never end up on time, unless it’s you…”
The song expands to tell the story about being so madly in love with someone that you cant live without them. Speaking on the meaning, Max says, “I loved the line ‘How can you blame me?‘, because who can really blame someone when they’re in love.”
We love Max’s layered vocal harmonies and the passion that he delivers the narrative with. Max cites Justin Bieber, The Kid Laroi, Ed Sheeran, Lauv and Dominic Fike as some of his influences, but it is clear that he is creating a vibe of his own.
Max get super emotive towards the end of the song, singing that he would rather be dead than without his muse, and we can relate to that sentiment!
We have added Blame Me to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been streaming Max Edwards’ wider discography including Heaven, Gravity and Sorry for the Pain.
