We recently featured The Rapports for their introspective and polished single, Wanna Be, so we were thrilled to hear that the band had just dropped a new release!
Setting the vibe with an indie Britpop vibe, The Rapports open their latest single, Alive with the playful narrative-driven lyrics, “We get up at dawn, stretching and yawn, under my arms you try to go, sleep in til ten, roll over again, watching the sun shine through the cracks…”
The song expands to takes us on an intimate and romantic journey with the infectious hook, “I feel a li -li-li-li-live…”. The song as a whole is upbeat, vivid, full of awe and optimism and about “feeling alive, being in love, and being in love with the world”. A much needed respite in this day and age!
The band says “it’s time to whack on that suntan lotion, drive to the beach with this super catchy track turned up as loud as it will go. Bring on the summer!” and we couldn’t agree more!
We love the sonic landscape that the rising band from Brighton has created, along with the message and intention of the track. The song also comes with an uplifting music video featuring a great performance from the band on Brighton beach!
Alive is the second single release from The Rapports‘ debut album Taking Off due this Summer, and we have added the song to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
