Setting the theme with enigmatic percussion and acid-infused guitar, we are already hypnotized by Timmy the Boy‘s new single, Show You.
As he counts us in, the track evolves into a hybrid-disco-funk soundscape as Timmy sings, “You wanna skip the small talk, babe that’s ok, I can do without it” with flexed vocals.
Show You is the third single in Timmy the Boy‘s journey and the upbeat funky anthem is the perfect song to make you get up and dance. It features Timmy on vocals and guitar, with Dan Greco on bass and Branyn Gerber on drums.
We love the energy of track, and Timmy cites influences including Childish Gambino, Frankie Valli, Rex Orange County, Silk Sonic, the Kay-Gees, Magnum and Greta Van, although it is very clear that Timmy is carving a path of his own.
Speaking on the meaning of the track, Timmy says, “The song is about that first moment that you meet the one. While love at first sight is great and all, there is nothing like that sheer physical attraction shared with someone upon meeting them.”
“When that feeling is shared between two individuals it leads you to feel on top of the world and want to give them the world as well. That is what this song is about. When I (Timmy the Boy) first met my girlfriend, there was an undeniable physical attraction and we could not be separated on that dance floor. The rest is history.”
We love the message and Timmy’s translation of pure love energy into this track, so we have also added Show You to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
