Setting the frequency with glistening and rising synth details with a cerebral texture, JULIENT opens his latest release, Calling For My Name with the lyrics, “I’m walking through the streets with an idea, an idea…”
Speaking on the meaning of the release, JULIENT says, “The song is about being on a good path, about self-reflection, to rise and learning from your past mistakes. Again and again people from the past will try to push you back, which they succeed sometimes for a moment, but then it’s up to you to change this, to focus on yourself again and to look into the future.”
We love the message that JULIENT is conveying with the lyrics including the profound and self-realized hook, “Calling For My Name, does not mean, that it’ll be the same again, I’ve learned so much from the past, not the same mistakes, that I don’t want to make again…”, and the composition as a whole has a vibrant, high end, danceable and inspiring energy.
JULIENT cites Sam Smith and RÜFÜS DU SOL as influences, but is is clear that that rising artist from London is creating his own path with a hybrid of dance pop song and deep house.
Speaking on the artwork for the single, JULIENT says, “On the cover of the song you can see a statue, which stands in Stockholm and is supposed to represent the meaning of the resurrection.”
We love the energy that JULIENT is bringing with this release and have added Calling For My Name to our New Music Spotlight playlist, and have been exploring his previous singles, Solo and for a while.
