Setting the tone with static details, enigmatic frequencies and melodic pulses, hd hausmann opens his latest release, far unseen, with his signature deep vocals and introspective lyricism.
We are hypnotized by hd hausmann’s delivery which reminds us of Leonard Cohen. The song expands into a cerebral journey with textured vocals fused with profound and epic production.
A lyrical highlight includes “of course we know the distance won’t take us, but we move as if we cannot stay” as hd hausmann takes us on a poetic voyage of the “colours of the far unseen”.
As the song expands, we experience whistles and clicks that dimensionalize the track with the already immersive and exquisite synths.
Speaking on the creation of the track, hd hausmann says it was “Initially written in Kythira, Greece in 2019, then constantly delayed by life, the pandemic, procrastination and everything between. Now it’s going out to the wider world.”
When discussing the themes of the track, the rising artist poetically tells us, “This song was written as a dedication to my sister’s second child, inspired by a photograph we managed to take of the full moon at the time she was giving birth. In the picture these stars stood prominently out like three points of light welcoming in the new arrival.”
“I just wanted to write something about the magnitude and scale of ourselves inside and amongst everything else–our love, our hope, our drama–all existing on this grand cosmic stage”, continues the conscious artist.
hd hausmann cites The National, Bon Iver and Jenny Hval as some of his influences, but it is clear that he is creating a universe of his own!
We have added far unseen to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in hd hausmann‘s wider discography including The Loveliest Ocean and a modern weight.
