Setting the vibe with an immersive and celestial textures, before atmospheric guitar takes our attention, Fran Lusty opens her latest single, Kiss Me Sober, with the assertive lyrics, “It’s getting late, I wanna leave right now…”
The song goes on to tell the story of a connection between two people and the uncertainty of the transience of that connection, as Fran sings, “Give me hope, don’t leave me trippin’..”
Kiss Me Sober expands and contracts in a powerful and immersive way, we are hynotized by the build and emotional prowess of the rising artist from London as she explores her feelings and the validity of love under the influence.
“You kiss me on my neck, and whisper that you’ll never leave cos I’m perfect…” she sings intimately, but is it love or intoxication or both?
Speaking on the track, Fran says it encompasses, “That feeling when, reluctantly, you must break away and let go of their hand to see if they try to hold on”.
The opus is moving and the soundscape is luscious, yet diverse which could easily be synched to a major movie or TV show.
We have added Kiss Me Sober to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in Fran’s wider discography including I’m Blue and Don’t Pollinate.
