Stella Gray delivers emotive, anthemic and dynamic debut single, Heart So Cheap

Immersing us with a vibrant arpeggiated synth, Stella Gray opens her debut single, Heart So Cheap with the assertive lyrics, “Keep moving, go the other way, you’re so predictable…”

The song expands magnificently to take us on a pop rock journey into the world of a heartbroken teen, as the rising artist from Sydney, Australia sings the emotive hook “better off on my own”.

Lyrical highlights include the introspective “I tried but I guess I’m always wrong”, the poetic “you look like something that sounds like a riddle” and the vulnerable “relapsed to where we were before….”

We love the driving passion that Stella performs with in cohesive harmony with the intricate and high end design of the track. Heart So Cheap is anthemic and epic, with elements of classic pop-rock nostalgia, fused with futurism in sound design.

Stella is joining the 2026 class at the Clive Davis Institute Of Recorded Music at Tisch NYU. Speaking on the theme of track, the emerging super star says, “It’s like when you’re in a situation and you just know that your heart’s gonna get broken, I wrote Heart So Cheap as an almost come back to that, realising that instead, i’m just ‘better off on my own’.”

We are obsessed and have added Heart So Cheap to our New Music Spotlight playlist and cannot wait to hear the upcoming releases from Stella Gray!
