Setting the vibe with an immersive frequency and textured layers, Hannah Scott opens her interpretation of Song to the Siren with and atmospheric and emotive delivery, and we are hypnotized.
The design of the track is ethereal and minimalist, fused with Hannah Scott’s enigmatic vocals, we love the direction of the song and how it is different from the original composition.
Lyrical highlights include the intimate “sail to me let me unfold you”, the romantic “did I dream you?” and the poetic and conceptual “I’m as puzzled, as the oyster and as troubled as the tide…”
Hannah Scott is based in London and created her cover of Tim Buckley’s Song To The Siren with her long-standing creative partner Stefano Della Casa, as requested by Hannah’s publisher in the Summer of 2020 for a sync in a US TV series. However, the producers chose a song by Leonard Cohen in the end, so the duo, who always liked the recording they produced, have now decided to release it officially.
We have added Song of the Siren to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in Hannah’s wider discography including No Gravity which was featured in Grey’s Anatomy!
