Setting the tone with a wavy synth detail and textures which expand into a syncopated percussive beat, we are already hypnotized by AMARA ctk100‘s latest single, Win / Sin.
“I sin and I win” sings the rising Swiss artist from London on the hook of the track with her distinctive, cerebral vocal stylings and immersive and dimensional production.
Win / Sin is playful and intricate with nuanced detail that cements AMARA ctk100 as a unique player in the alt-pop and hyperpop scene.
We love the way that Win / Sin evokes amplified emotion as the whirring synths fuse cohesively with Amara’s vocals, building melodic intensity and evocative guitar.
Speaking on the message of the release, Amara says, “Its about staying in your own lane, doing your own thing and winning whilst you’re doing it. You don’t have to be doing what people want you to do. Just keep doing it or as it says in the song ‘do it type girl – till u see it on the telly type girl!'”
The song is accompanied by an ethereal baroque track called All The Way and a bridge track between the two called Amara’s Interlude, which teases All The Way and showcases Amara’s vocals with celestial details.
All The Way opens intimately with the lyrics, “turn down the lights, so I can dance for you…” before a pulsing bass is delivered as our protagonist takes us on a more emotional journey.
AMARA ctk100 was chosen as the support artist for the iconic US pop star Rebecca Black on her “Rebecca Black Was Here” UK/Europe tour in May 2022 with eight shows, most of which have already sold out!
Fans of Grimes and FKA Twigs will definitely be able to connect with AMARA ctk100‘s artistry, and we have added Win / Sin to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
