Immersing us with intricate guitar and a refined alt rock energy, we are already obsessed with Poison Oak‘s new single Hope You Like The View.
The release is Poison Oak’s third single from their upcoming EP, The View From Here and song explores the themes of choices, and “sometimes how someone’s unexpected choices can affect the people they’re close to”.
We love the cerebral nature of the lyricism and the profound, and frankly quite rare, theme that the four-piece outfit from North Queensland, Townsville is touching upon with this composition. The band is made up of members Ray Pearson, James Balthes, Chris Reiterer and Russell West.
Fusing iconic melodies with their already intelligent lyricism, we love how catchy Hope You Like The View is. Fans of The Cure and Blink 182 will be able to connect with the song, although it is clear that Poison Oak are creating a universe and sound of their own.
We have added Hope You Like The View to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in the band’sprevious releases, Losing Ourselves and Weekend Blues.
