Setting the tone with an alternative rock frequency with luscious guitar, we are already transfixed by PK‘s latest release, white pants.
The single, produced by Jakkyboi, also features a vibrant music video, as our protagonist sings with conviction, “She asks ‘can I come on over again?’ She asks ‘can I come on over again?’ I can’t keep on going holding it in, I’m kind of over it, girl…”
Speaking on meaning of white pants, the rising artist says, “The song is inspired by situations in life where we just find ourselves in, and don’t even know how we got there. It’s about finally saying no to those situations and moving on. Getting out from the mix of emotions.”
PK, who is also known as Joosep Vau, is an Estonian musician who was a rapper for over fifteen years and suffered full paralysis at the age of seventeen. Everything musically was achieved for him after rehabilitation.
Speaking on his influences, PK says, “I’ve always been a big fan of Estonian romantic punk bands. From outside of Estonia, Placebo and Blink 182 have been big influences. Also I really admire what Panic! at the Disco does. These are only a few name out of many.” It is clear that PK is creating a universe of his own!
Lyrical highlights from white pants include the witty, “Life is not Tinder, we just don’t match” and the poetic, “Told me to wear the white pants, I think I’d rather wear the black heart…”
The music video for white pants was directed by Eugen and features PK delivering a playful and immersive performance! We have added white pants to our New Music Spotlight playlist!
