Immersing us with celestial textures and a vibrant soundscape, Super Saiyan Jay opens his latest release, Let Them Be with the introspective lyrics, “I got a shorty says she loves me, but I don’t feel the same…”
The song goes on to traverse the polarities of conflict, and whether to choose chaos or peace. We love the emotive nature of the song and the way that Super Saiyan Jay’s mind works, as well as his intricate and powerful flow.
Speaking on who inspires him, Super Saiyan Jay says, “There’s a handful of influences. Lil Wayne is our personal G.O.A.T, some dope legends between Biggie Smalls, Jada Kiss OutKast. Etc. There are too many to name in all honesty.”
We can feel this come to light in Let Them Be, but it is clear that Super Saiyan Jay is forging his own reality.
When discussing the duality in his artwork, the rising artist from West Palm Beach says, “Based on the cover I’ve created. Two images of myself, it represents a reflection of myself with two different colour pieces of each person. One colour being red representing passion, temptation, emotion etc. While the other colour blue representing peace, serenity and sensitivity.”
The thought provoking artist continues, “While in the centre of the cover, an olive tree representing peace, is also being burned. Raw emotion through and through the song as I am taking claim to a new regime of assertiveness and dominance.”
There is no doubt that deep through has gone into this composition and we are obsessed. We have added Let Them Be to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been exploring Super Saiyan Jay‘s wider discography including Are We Clear and Demons and Monsters.
