Setting the frequency with emotive synth details, vinyl texture and an enigmatic riser, we are already hypnotized by Son Savage‘s latest release, Superglue.
Son Savage opens the song with the loving lyrics, “If I was dreamin’ you then put me back to sleep, I don’t want my eyes if I won’t see you right here…”
The song expands into a playful love song, with the mesmerizing hook, “You got me good, like superglue, you got me stuck on you…”
Son Savage is a Dubai-based Lebanese pop producer, singer, songwriter, and creative, and Superglue is the follow up to his successful debut single The River and album Folie à Deux.
Superglue also comes with an 8-Bit Game version, which expands into a playful soundscape that feels futuristic and nostalgic at the same. The synth which takes on the role of the main protagonist has a dimensional personality, and we are obsessed with the panning melodies and elements of psychedelia.
In the original version, the soundscape is smoother and more commercial pop, versus the synth heavy 8-Bit Game version which was created to evoke a sense of nostalgia.
What makes this release iconic, is that Son Savage has also created a playable music video for Superglue, which you can download on App Store/Google Play and try it out for yourself from April 14. Son Savage told us, “It’s SUPER addictive once you get the hang of it if I say so myself.” The design is by Leonel Montero.
The video experience sees the protagonist self-create as his own super hero and visually it has a vibe like a Sonic-meets-Mario energy.
We love Son Savage‘s optimistic, self-realized and wholesome vibe, and have added Superglue to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been exploring Son Savage‘s wider discography including The River and Love Therapy.
