Setting the vibe with an enigmatic frequency evolving into a celestial melody, Miles Squiers opens his latest single BLACK CHEVY with the visual lyrics, “Tall like an all-black Chevy, her kiss so heavy, then she threw her heart on the ground, soul empty, hopeful of envy…”
Delivering a hybrid sound, the rising artist from California says, “Black Chevy was written after I met the love of my life”.
Miles continues, “The lyrics describe a strong woman using [the word] tall to describe her both physically and emotionally. The symbolism of a “Black Chevy” is also that of strength, it being a strong car and the colour black representing power and elegance.”
BLACK CHEVY expands to deliver an immersive and romantic vibe with an eloquent and powerful delivery from Miles, who is studying songwriting and music business at Belmont University, and has been releasing and producing his own music for over six years.
Miles, who was born in San Francisco and self-describes as a genre expansive artist, has influences in many different sounds including jazz, soul, rock, rap, and more.
Lyrical highlights from BLACK CHEVY include the poetic “her kiss so heavy, then she threw her heart on the ground” and the romantic “now we fucking foreplayin’, opening the lock on your broken doorframe…”
We love the direction the Miles is going in. We have added BLACK CHEVY to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been exploring Miles’ wider discography including his album, NOIR.
