Hypnotizing us immediately with a garage style beat with immersive and astral cosmic details, Texture Pack opens their song Sand with an industrial and cerebral vibe fused with elegant and mesmerizing moody melodies.
As Sand expands, we experience various melodic frequencies combined cohesively with gritty bass and a sometimes haunting energy. Half way through the track strips down to deliver a pulsing synth, as it rebuilds we are immersed once again in the intricate and experimental soundscape.
Texture Pack is a project by dj luj, who works with a computer and synthesizers to create his sonic landscape.
When discussing his references, Texture Pack mentions Burial and Prodigy, the says, “the big beat scene in general, anything dark/experimental.
The second track is Cobble, which opens with a more minimalist and pulsating energy, with electronic details scattered throughout as the beat evolves to be more syncopated. The bright details of the track are exquisite. Midway though the track, as with Sand, we have a breakdown and rebuilt moment, showing how the rising artist is cementing their sound, though they say, “I feel like my project is misunderstood”, we feel like they are creating their universe which is what every artist should endeavour to do.
When discussing themes, Texture Pack says the project “talks about the struggles of life”. We love that concept and have added Sand to our New Music Spotlight playlist.
