Immersing us with acoustic guitar and a refined vocal delivery, Joe Wilkinson opens his latest song Water to Wine with the wise lyrics, “Time’s not made for wasting, mark it down, don’t be late…”
The optimistic rising artist delivers an enigmatic and beautiful music video performance filmed on The Costa Blanca in Spain, where Joe currently lives.
Some lyrical highlights include the deep “good things don’t come easy, great things, harder still…”, the introspective “life’s a game of choices, not just black and white” and the optimistic and knowledgeable “you can be the light, or stay and make friends with the darkness”.
The uplifting singer has been featured on BBC Radio multiple times, and was also commissioned by Netflix to perform a PR stunt for the promotion of their show ‘Money Heist‘ outside the European Central bank in Frankfurt.
During his time living in Berlin, he also supported Grammy award-winning artist, Lauren Daigle, at the Kesselhaus. Water to Wine marks Joe’s first single since a pandemic-induced hiatus, and we love this conscious return to form.
Speaking on the themes of the track, Joe says “Water to Wine is a refusal to give in when the going gets tough, an uplifting rallying cry to anyone tempted to turn back when uncharted waters get too deep.”
We have added Water to Wine to our New Music Spotlight playlist and have been immersing ourselves in Joe’s wider discography including Freedom or This, Inside and Injustice.
