Fused with vibrant guitar, Brave New Broken Hearts Club opens his latest release, A Little Piece of Me with the introspective lyrics, “You may take me for a mug, you can’t detect suspicion, you might think I am naive but it’s by my own admission, I’m out and having a good time, but I’m not on a mission…”
A Little Piece of Me expands into a pop-rock journey where our protagonist opens himself up to the universe and his audience with conscious lyricism and a luscious soundscape.
“I am a spiritual man, but I don’t get religion…” sings the North London born songwriter and producer also known as Neil Phillimore, who runs a not-for-profit organisation songwriting and recording for the wellbeing and mentoring of youth.
Creativity is therapy, and has been a lifeline for the artist who fans of Lily Allen would love, but also self-describes as “a sniffter of Billy Bragg’s London vocal styling, the tiniest pinch of Damon Albarn’s lower register, a dash of Richard Hawley croon”.
Combined with his intricate and poetic song writing, Brave New Broken Hearts Club delivers emotionally rich, heartfelt and optimistic songs! We love the lyrics, “what we need is courage and vulnerability, so I’m offering A Little Piece of Me”, which really sums up the conscious rising artist’s intention and message with his creative output.
